# Colossus Calves: The Architecture for This Frame

## Layer 1: The Frame

Machine-based calf work at three sessions per week. Equipment ratings are a real safety variable.

The Colossus at 325-375 lbs requires archetype-specific calves mechanics. The Endomorph structure creates specific leverage and recruitment patterns that determine which movements produce mechanical tension and which produce compensation.

## Layer 2: The Anatomy

The Colossus calf machine must be rated for the combined body weight plus added load. Seated calf raises reduce the body weight demand on the equipment. Three sessions per week at conservative loads with progressive intent.

## Layer 3: The Protocol

Primary: Seated calf raise 4 sets of 12 to 15 reps — machine rated for body weight. Secondary: Standing calf raise machine if equipment rating allows 3 sets of 12 reps. Frequency: 3 sessions per week.

Volume: maintenance at 8 to 10 weekly sets. Growth at 12 sets. Specialization at 16 to 20 sets. Add load only when previous weight executes with full range and zero form breakdown.

## Layer 4: The Psychology

The Colossus calf training uses equipment-appropriate mechanics. Verify ratings before loading.
