If you know me you know I bbq or grill year round. Now many of the things that we associate with grilling are unhealthy or carb filled items.
Things like potato salad, desserts, and of course the bread on our burgers and other items.
How can we make our options healthier?
First and foremost you can grill fruits, I will be posting videos soon showing you how to accomplish just that.
Watermelon, pineapples, pears, and peaches are even tastier grilled.
This way you can avoid unnecessary sweets, which can be unintuitive to your goals.
Of course portioning out your food, goes without saying. Pile up on the non-starchy veggies, like broccoli and even coleslaw.
Using olive oil or avocado oil, to make you veggies taste good, just brush it with a bbq sauce brush or pastry brush.
Also protein of course, minus the bread, I love hot links, I don’t really eat hot dogs, and things like hamburgers all taste good without the buns and extra sauces.
Another thing you can do is opt for leaner cuts of meat as well. Highly processed meats are not ideal, i.e. the hot links and hot dogs for example.
In terms of red meat look for 90% lean if possible, or cut the fat or drain the fat off of your protein as you cook.
