What’s the word? I’m Xavier from xperformancelab, and if you’re wondering how to take your content to the next level, this post is for you. At V Fit Gym in Houston’s Galleria area, I’ve built my brand by creating content that connects, engages, and converts. Here’s how I leverage content creation to grow my business and tips for other trainers to do the same in 2025.
Balancing Authority with Relatability
Xavier Savage from xperformancelab knows that being self-obsessed doesn’t win clients. Sure, some trainers thrive on an “alpha” persona, and there’s a market for that—men respect strong male figures, and women admire confident female trainers. But I focus on content that speaks to my audience of women and beginners without putting myself on a pedestal. I share science-backed workouts and nutrition tips that resonate broadly, blending authority with relatability to attract loyal clients.
Planning Content Like a Pro
I never wing my content. At a minimum, I plan for holidays and annual fitness events, like New Year’s resolution challenges or Houston wellness expos. Each month, I map out themes—fat loss in January, mobility in March—and schedule weekly posts using CapCut for videos and Canva for graphics. This keeps my YouTube and Instagram (@xperformancelab) buzzing with purpose. Trainers, start with a simple calendar: plan one big campaign per quarter and weekly posts to stay relevant.
Consistency Is My Secret Weapon
Without a plan, consistency suffers, and every social platform—YouTube, TikTok, Instagram (@xperformancelab)—favors trainers who post regularly. I drop three pieces weekly: a long-form workout, a motivational vlog, and a Short, timed for 7 PM CDT to hit my Houston audience. Consistency builds momentum, keeps my followers engaged, and boosts my visibility in algorithms. For other trainers, aim for at least two posts a week to stay in the game.
Mixing Up Content Types
I don’t just post workouts. My audience loves day-in-the-life vlogs showing my routine at V Fit Gym, meal prep videos with Mediterranean/Paleo recipes, and recovery tips like foam rolling or mindfulness. These varied posts, shared on xperformancelab.com and TikTok (@xperformancelab), keep me authoritative yet relatable. Trainers, diversify your content—show your meals, your warm-ups, or a fun weekend hike to connect beyond the gym.
Staying Relatable to Build Trust
I make sure my content reminds people I wasn’t born shredded or famous. I share stories of my early days as a beginner, struggling with form or consistency, to connect with my audience. On Instagram (@xperformancelab), I post throwbacks or client transformations to show the journey. Trainers, weave in your own “before” moments or client wins to make your content shareable and human—people trust what feels real.
Tips for Trainers to Crush Content Creation
Here’s how other trainers can level up:
- Speak to Your Audience: Craft content for your niche—mine’s women and beginners. Avoid ego-driven posts that alienate potential clients.
- Plan Strategically: Map out holiday campaigns and monthly themes. Use tools like CapCut to streamline video editing.
- Post Consistently: Aim for 2–3 posts weekly, including Shorts, to stay visible on platforms like YouTube and TikTok.
- Diversify Content: Mix workouts with lifestyle vlogs, nutrition tips, or recovery hacks to keep followers engaged.
- Be Relatable: Share your struggles or client success stories to build trust and encourage shares.
