Sugar alcohol, is not a calorie free replacement or carb substitute. People think sugar alcohols are a cure all for all their sugar woes, and that is not the case. What else should I know about sugar alcohols There are issues of bloating upset stomach and GI problems, which are common in a large majority of people. The other side of the scale, is that they are usually found in processed, and packaged foods, which aren’t that great for you anyways. Natural foods are obviously the best option for you, if you have a sweet tooth, berries and melons are natural low calorie options you can enjoy. Also they tend to have less of an effect on blood sugar levels, which can be good for diabetics. The take away is pretty simple, there are not substitute for natural foods, and moderation is key.
